Post GWP Hak Pak 3.11 (REQUIRED TO PLAY)
To play on GWP, you must first download and install GWP Hak Pak 3.11.


To Install the GWP Hak Pak 3.11

1. Download the Hak Pak.
Download Hak 3.01 as one big file (114mb)
Mirrored on Nightlite
Download the Hak 3.01 as 8 smaller files (14.3mb each - File 1 | File 2 | File 3 | File 4 | File 5 | File 6 | File 7 | File 8)


!You also need to download patch 3.02, 3.10 and 3.11

2. If you have an older version of the GWP Hak Pak installed:
- Go to your Neverwinter Nights hak directory (eg. C:\Neverwinter Nights\NWN\hak) and delete any files beginning with gwp.
- Go to your Neverwinter Nights tlk directory (eg. C:\Neverwinter Nights\NWN\tlk) and delete any files beginning with gwp.
- Go to your Neverwinter Nights directory (eg. C:\Neverwinter Nights\NWN) and back up the override directory by renaming it to 'overridebak' or something similar, or delete it entirely.
Make sure that your override directory is either empty or non existent at this point

3. Extract the contents of these .RAR files to your Neverwinter Nights directory (eg. C:\Neverwinter Nights\). The files will automatically go into their proper folders. You'll need WinRAR to extract it. If you downloaded the smaller files, you need only extract the first one -- WinRAR will automatically extract from the rest as it needs them.

If you wish to move the files manually:
- Put gwp3.0.tlk into your NWN tlk directory (\tlk)
- Put gwp2da3.0.hak, gwpcrea3.0.hak, gwpitem3.0.hak, gwpmisc3.0.hak, gwpplac3.0.hak, gwptile3.0.hak, gwp3patch1.hak, gwp3.01.hak and gwp3.02 into your NWN hak directory (\hak)
- Put mus_if_echo.bmu and mus_music2echo.bmu into your NWN music directory (\music)
- Put all other files into your NWN override directory (\override)

Verify that you now have an override directory containing 501 files.

4. Hak 3.11 Final is now installed. Connect to 202.21.136.217:5121 to play on GWP :)


Some Notes on this Hak Pak

  • All Four Servers - the Gateway, Fenguard, Jorea and Fort Maine - require this hak, just to clear things up for some of you.
  • You will no longer need any previous hak paks or hak pak files older than those introduced with version 3.0. You can delete them to free up space.
  • Make sure you install this hak AFTER you have installed NWN + SoU + HotU.
  • You'll need WinRAR to uncompress the hak. We use the .RAR format because it compresses hella better than a .ZIP file.
  • Previously, the unlocked Portraits and Soundsets were optional. Now, the portraits.2da and soundset.2da files are required - do NOT overwrite them, move them or delete them. If you know what you're doing, you can edit them yourself (at your own risk) to unlock or lock soundsets/portraits.
  • The combat animations are still optional, but they are of much better quality now. I doubt anyone would want to remove them, but if you do want to, PM me.
  • This Hak decompresses to 600mb, make sure you have the space!
  • This hak adds files to your override directory. If you have any files already in there, there is a chance that they will be overwritten, and a good chance that they will conflict with GWP. To avoid this, back up or delete your override directory before installing the hak.
  • I've included a set of instructions with the Hak, so that it is easier to redistribute.

Depheant's Armoury II - Adds a good amount of weapon and shield appearances, though due to its complexity they won't be available in the crafting workshops. Expect to see a host of new items get added to the treasure system in the near future that look very sexy...
Freya's Outfit - Adds an extra 'robe' for females.
Liefs Fog - High quality fog for mod builders to use.
Lisa's Placeables - Baths, rugs, tapestries, mirrors and many more new placeables for mod builders to use.
Hands - Your characters now have digits, instead of 'cube fists'!

Wings and Tails - Allows a great many more objects and effects to be attached to wing nodes and tail nodes for module builders. Expect to see some interesting monsters around ;)
Extra Sounds/Music - DeLucas' music has been added for mod builders to use.
Cave Cielings - Modifies the existing Mines & Caverns tileset to have cave cielings. And no, they're not like the trees, they don't get in the way :)
Coastline - Adds coastlines and sand to the Rural tileset.
Drylands - A dry reskin of the Rural tileset that looks almost prehistoric.
Gothic City - Adds a reskin of the city tileset, a dark and gloomy gothic city.
Hills and Homes - The latest version of Thallion's hills, redone for HotU. Adds the hills and homes to the Snowy Rural and Desert tilesets.
TB Swamp - This will be replacing the current swamp hak. Adds a much higher quality and easier-to-navigate swamp tileset with extra tileset features.
Elven Chain compleat, Hauberks, Adventurers Kit, Cloaks and Dynamic Quiver Combo - A bit of a mouthful... adds armour 'robe' appearances, back/belt weapon sheathes, quivers, a cloak done differently to Lisa's and a few other bits and bobs which can be crafted into your armour.

The existing contents of hak 2.0 and 2.1, updated for 3.0.

Shadowhawk Weapons Components - Adds extra appearances for Longbows, Shortbows, Double Axes, Warhammers and Two bladed Swords.
Battlefield placeables - Extra battlefield placeables.
Super VFX - New fountain FX and portal FX.
STX Crafting - Updated, now you can select all of the appearances added by Lisa's haks!
Alternate Animations - Updated, fixes strafing, males hold their two handed weapons 'naturally' when not in combat, non-PC races don't use it (no more kung fu skeletons), extra animations added!
JXP Forest - Edited to have much less of those 'annoying' trees.
Portrait/Soundset 2das - These 2das are no longer optional, they're required for many of the custom creatures so don't overwrite them or replace them. In addition to the XP1 and XP2 henchmen soundsets that are currently unlocked, I've unlocked the original henchmen soundsets.
PrC Consortium - Didn't actually update as it was *way* too much work, we've removed all but three classes, the Acolyte of the Skin, Duelist and Hierophant, due to lack of interest and bugs. Your existing characters that use the removed classes will no longer work, sad to say, but you can talk to a DM to have these characters Re-leveled - make sure you do this before FM is released.
Lisa's Loadscreens - No, not the Placeables/Clotheshorse/Holdables Lisa but our very own black, rivenish Lisa. She has created a few loadscreens for our mountain tilesets, which we lacked.

EXISTING CONTENTS
Stuff carried over from Hak 2.0 and 2.1. If you don't see it here, it was removed, replaced or updated.

Extract to your NWN directory (or extract gwp3.02.hak into your hak directory).

This patch enables the bioware cloaks in 1.68, which I must say are rather sexy.

*** Please note ***

If you have the NWN Legends pack (with two expansions, NWN2 etc) the 'root' directory that Duck refers to has actually been obfuscated somewhat. In my case it was C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN - just look for the directory that has nwmain.exe

Failing that, just nag Duck for unpaid technical support - it's what he does best.
